Coming Home: A Community Hub in the Making

By Cei Heck

“Wouldn’t it be great to have a place to sit, play board games, and chat on a couch all day with a cuppa?” – Cei’s Friend Sarah.

“It would, I bet I can do that.” – Cei Heck

That simple conversation did more than spark a business idea. It created a living, breathing space designed not just for transactions, but for connection. A place where family comes together, neighbours become friends, local artists, writers, and artisans are celebrated. A place that feels like home.

More Than a Space — A Feeling

In a world that moves too fast, where conversations are reduced to text messages and gatherings are squeezed into calendars weeks in advance, we began to ask ourselves a simple question:

What if there was a place where time slowed down?

The concept of the Redcliffe Treehouse wasn’t over a meeting; it grew through family Christmas celebrations filled with laughter and wrapping paper chaos. It was shaped during Nana’s birthday dinners, where the grandkids got to blow out the candles. It evolved during spontaneous get-togethers where friends showed up with snacks and stayed far longer than planned.

We realized something powerful:
The magic wasn’t in the décor, the food or even how good the coffee was. It was in the feeling.

That warm, homely atmosphere where you could take your shoes off, curl up on the couch, argue over Monopoly, and talk about everything and nothing for hours.

So we asked ourselves: Why can’t we bring that feeling into a store?

Bringing Our Home Into Store

Here, every couch invites you to sit and stay awhile. Every table is placed to encourage conversation. Every rug, cushion or chair is here to comfort you, to tell you, “You’re welcomed here.”

We didn’t want shelves stacked high with products and pressure. We wanted breathing room. We wanted laughter echoing off the walls. We wanted children playing board games while grandparents sip coffee nearby. We wanted writers scribbling notes in journals. We wanted artists discussing their latest pieces with curious onlookers.

We wanted community. And so we built it.

A Stage for Local Talent

Communities thrive when creativity is nurtured. Hidden in every neighbourhood are storytellers, painters, poets, crafters, musicians, and dreamers waiting for someone to say, “We see you.”

The Redcliffe Treehouse proudly showcases local talent whose work deserves more than a fleeting glance online. Here, their creations are not just products on a shelf; they are stories waiting to be shared.

Imagine:

  • An evening where a local author reads from their latest book.
  • A comforting set played on our grand piano by a musician who usually only performs for friends.
  • A creative workshop where strangers leave as collaborators.

This isn’t just retail.
It’s recognition and encouragement.
It’s community support in its most tangible form.

When you walk through our doors, you’re not just shopping. You’re investing in someone’s passion.

Slow Down. Stay Awhile.

No one is watching the clock.
No one is hovering for your seat.
No one is telling you it’s time to leave.

Sit. Play. Talk. Dream.

Pick from our collection of board games and challenge your friends. Curl up with a book from a local writer. Strike up a conversation with someone new. Celebrate small victories. Plan big ideas.

Or simply exist.

For every occasion

Planning a meeting, birthday or just a simple book club?

We’ve included a space for all.

With our boardroom fit for 10, or our large event space upstairs used for workshops, meetings, birthdays and more. We also have a lounge area set for book clubs or just a game of scrabble.

The Redcliffe Treehouse is built for you.

For your days off, and days on. For your first dates, quite study, high tea or long needed catch up time.

Relax as good coffee is brought to you.

Your Invitation

This isn’t just our project. It’s yours.

The Treehouse is a community hub — a place to connect, create, celebrate, and belong. Whether you’re an artist looking for a platform, a family searching for a gathering place, or someone who simply wants to sit on a couch and talk about life for hours, you are welcome here.

Wouldn’t it be great to have a place like that?

We thought so too.

So we built it.

Welcome home.
