Ladies Who Long Lunch was created by Kirsty Fields to offer women something a little different: thoughtfully planned events in wonderful venues, where the experience is just as important as the people around the table.

During its early years, Kirsty was joined by Jo Stevens as co-host, helping establish the welcoming atmosphere and community that Ladies Who Long Lunch is known for today.

Now led by Kirsty as Founder & Event Director, Ladies Who Long Lunch continues to evolve, bringing together women from business, professional and community life through thoughtfully planned experiences that encourage friendships, conversation and new opportunities.

Our events are particularly loved by business owners, professionals and corporate groups looking for something beyond traditional networking. Come with colleagues, clients or friends, or come on your own and meet women you may never otherwise have crossed paths with.

When I created Ladies Who Long Lunch, I wanted women to have an opportunity to enjoy themselves while building friendships, professional relationships and discovering new opportunities.

But there was something else I wanted to encourage, too. And that was making a little time for ourselves.

I’m the first to admit I’m not particularly good at practising regular self-care. I know how important it is, yet I’m often the person still sitting at my desk, thinking “I should be working”, when I could be doing something for myself!

It often takes a special occasion on my diary to remind me how much I enjoy those little things. Getting dressed up, having my hair and nails done – I’m good at planning those parts for a special event. But doing them simply for myself without a reason isn’t. Nor is sitting down to a beautiful meal or simply enjoying an afternoon without rushing to another appointment or responsibilities of home and family.

And I know I’m not alone.

That’s why we gently encourage our guests to make the most of the whole experience, from the anticipation of getting ready to the final conversations of the afternoon. Even the little details of our events are thoughtfully considered to create opportunities for laughter, genuine conversation and moments when you can simply relax and enjoy being there.

You might leave having made a new friend, discovered a business opportunity, heard an inspiring story or laughed more than you have in weeks. And perhaps, somewhere along the way, you’ll be reminded how lovely it feels to make time for yourself.

Because sometimes a wonderful afternoon is reason enough.
