Backing Up in Roma: A Regional Long Lunch That Brings Businesswomen Together Like Never Before

After a sell-out success in 2024, Ladies Who Long Lunch are backing it up in Roma with their third Regional Long Lunch set to return to the expansive, lush lawns of Western Spirit Queensland on Friday, 1st August 2025.

Created for women in business, entrepreneurs, professionals, and all-around go-getters across the Queensland, these long lunches offer far more than a fancy meal. They are a joyful fusion of connection, conversation, community and celebration.

Kirsty Fields and Jo Stevens, the duo behind Ladies Who Long Lunch, have spent the past few years travelling Queensland to host unique, empowering events that lift the spirits of women who usually have a thousand things on their plates.

“Last year in Roma, one guest shared through tears how much she needed that afternoon – how rare it was for her to take time out for herself,” said Kirsty. “Moments like that are exactly why we keep coming back. We’re not just filling seats; we’re filling cups.”

150 women attended in 2024 from Roma, the Darling Downs, wider Maranoa and Brisbane and everywhere in between. The energy was palpable. From the Empowerment Panel Q&A discussions with incredible women from regional Queensland to the singing, dancing and joy-filled hosting by Jo Stevens – the event left a lasting imprint on everyone present.

“There’s simply not enough laughter in our lives as busy women juggling work, family and ambition,” says Stevens. “At our events, we don’t just talk shop. We shake things up, sometimes literally, with music and movement. Laughter is essential business and we hope to bring that at every one of our events.”

This year’s program once again features:
• A feasting-style lunch celebrating the best of Western Queensland cuisine
• The crowd-favourite Empowerment Panel Q&A, featuring local business-women from Roma
• Plenty of space and time for organic networking and connection-building
• Jo’s signature entertainment vibe (yes, there will be dancing)

The 2025 Regional Long Lunch is your invitation to unwind, meet with friends, make new ones, and be inspired by other women walking their own bold paths in business and life.

Whether you’re from Roma or ready to road-trip it West, this is your moment to connect with other women who get it – and be reminded that taking care of you is not a luxury. It’s a necessity.

The Roma Long Lunch is the third regional long lunch connecting business-women from in and around the Maranoa region with those from other corners of Queensland. Empowering and supporting rural women in business as entrepreneurs, career professionals, industry leaders, retailers, volunteers, mums in business and more in regional Queensland is the focus for the August 1st event.

Held on Friday 1st August 2025 at Western Spirit Queensland, 50 Bungeworgorai Lane, Dargal Road QLD 4455.

The founders of Western Queensland Spirit, Michael McLaughlin and Will Fellowes, seized an opportunity to not only craft exceptional spirits but also to forge partnerships with other small businesses scattered across the Outback.
